EXPERTISE
Phil is a Principal Consultant at Linkage Western Europe, a
professional services firm specialised in organisation and people
development products and solutions. He works globally as a
consultant and executive coach. Phil’s consulting work focuses
on the development of organisational leadership capability with
particular emphasis on effective change management and
organisational development. He has extensive expertise in the
leading corporate change within organisations and significant
experience in partnering organisational leaders in the development
and delivery of change agendas.
His recent consulting assignments have included:-
- Global Swiss
Investment Bank – the development of a two-day training
programme to equip line managers in the operations department to
manage the significant changes occurring as a result of the
development of a new business operating model and the associated
off-shoring and out-sourcing arising from this. The programme is
currently in its second year of roll-out. Programmes are being
delivered in Zurich, London, Stamford, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and
Singapore.
- UK General
Insurance Business – the development of a portfolio of three
training programmes aimed at sponsors (black belt), drivers
(green belt) and targets (yellow belt) of change with internal
assessment and accreditation at the manager level. Linkage
initially designed and delivered these programmes and then
equipped the organisation to facilitate the programmes
internally against defined quality standards under a license
agreement with Linkage.
- Global French
Engineering Organisation – the development and delivery over the
last 5 years of a three-day change leadership training programme
aimed at middle and senior line managers and encompassing both
systems change and people change. Thus far over 25 programmes
have been delivered in France, the US, Italy, India.
- Global US Beverage
Organisation – the delivery of change management training
programmes to both HR and senior line populations in the context
of their changes (supply chain restructure, merger, and changes
in organisation design and reporting lines). Linkage initially
delivered these programmes and then equipped the organisation to
facilitate the programmes internally against defined quality
standards under a license agreement with Linkage. Programmes
were delivered across the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, and
France. For this client Linkage also developed a customized
‘Transition Management Toolkit’ to support the application and
cascade of good people management practices in times of change.
- Global Japanese
Electronics Company – for the past 2 years Linkage has provided
change management training and coaching support to the European
business of this client to enable it to complete its
Pan-European change agenda. Recipients of our training and
coaching include business leaders, the corporate strategy team,
and the entire population of HR Business Partners. Programmes
are being delivered in France, the UK, Finland, the Netherlands,
and Norway.
Phil is an experienced
executive coach and mentor, working with clients at senior levels
with a focus on empowering individuals and their groups to enhance
business performance. His work has included both one-to-one
executive coaching and team coaching assignments.
EDUCATIONAL
BACKGROUND
Phil holds a Masters
Degree in Organisational Learning, and professional qualifications
as a Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development, a Fellow
of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a Member of the British
Institute of Management. He holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in
Executive Coaching and the British Psychological Society Level A & B
Psychometric Qualification. In addition, he holds Vocational
Qualifications in Management, Leadership and Strategic Leadership.

BACKGROUND
Phil brings to Linkage
Western Europe over twenty years experience of management and
leadership capability development in the UK Financial Services
industry, with line and human resource development roles in retail,
banking, insurance, investments, marketing and human resources. He
has also played a key leadership role within a series of mergers and
acquisitions with responsibility for the people-change aspects of
the merger workstreams..
Phil led the Talent
Development function within a major FTSE 100 organisation – this
role required him to support the top 40 senior leaders through the
development of individual coaching and development plans that would
enable senior management to deliver against a challenging corporate
agenda and environment.
For the last seven
years, Phil has worked with the Linkage Group as an external coach
and facilitator with major Commercial, Not-For-Profit, Research and
Sporting organisations across the UK and Northern Europe.
