Expertise
Chris is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist who combines a
strong academic background with extensive practical experience of
working as an HR specialist. He has worked with all types of
organisations, both private and public sector, within the UK and
abroad. His main areas of expertise are assessment and selection
(particularly assessment/development centre design and delivery),
psychometric testing, leadership development and the facilitation of
change Chris bases his approach on well established principles and
theories drawn from business/ organisational psychology and he seeks
to engage people – placing much emphasis on their involvement and
buy-in to any intervention.
Professional Background
Chris spent his early career in Human Resource Management,
firstly with London Transport, and then Allied Lyons. This was
followed by six years as a Research Fellow at both the University of
Nottingham and Birkbeck College, during which time he was awarded
his MSc (Occupational Psychology) and PhD. He has been working as a
consultant since 1997 and is also a Special Lecturer at the
University of Nottingham.
He became a full member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel
and Development in 1985, and a Chartered Occupational Psychologist
in 1995. He is a past Chair of the Occupational Section of the
British Psychological Society.
Chris is qualified to use a range of psychometric tests including
MBTI, OPQ32, Firo-B, PAPI, EQI, MSCEIT, and 16PF.

Chris has worked with a wide variety of private and public sector
clients including: KPMG, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Fortune
Promoseven, Thermo-Fisher, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas),
Sheffield Hallam University, Nottingham University, The Metropolitan
